Lauren Litwa, an artist hailing from Rockville, Maryland, and Trout Run, Pennsylvania, has carved a niche for herself in the world of fine arts. A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Lauren’s artistic journey is as diverse and vibrant as the strokes on her canvas.

The Cresson Scholarship Award bestowed upon her became a passport to three months of artistic exploration across Europe. Lauren immersed herself in the cultural richness of the Louvre, the Prado, and the Van Gogh Museum. These experiences not only broadened her artistic horizons but also left an indelible mark on her creative soul.

For most of her life, Lauren called Wawa, Pennsylvania, her home, where she not only raised a loving family but also found solace and inspiration in her studio. A proud mother and grandmother, she cherishes her role as a mom to her son Jordan and daughter Carley, as well as a grandmother to the delightful Harper and Ruby Moon.

Lauren’s artistic expression goes beyond the strokes of her brush; it reflects a deep-rooted passion for the environment and a profound commitment to the well-being of our oceans and all creatures that call Earth their home. Nature, with its beauty, has become a central theme in Lauren’s artistry.

“I am very passionate about the environment and protecting our oceans and all animals inhabiting this planet. I hike in the woods and spend time exploring local cold spring creeks in the mountains where I love doing plein air paintings. Connecting and grounding in nature helps me to create my spirit-based work,” Lauren shares.

Her studio visits, available by appointment, offer art enthusiasts a unique opportunity to witness and acquire her original oil and watercolor paintings. Lauren’s work is not merely a visual feast; it’s an intimate connection with the soul of nature, a celebration of Earth’s energy.

One piece in her collection is the “Earth Energy with a Box Turtle.” This oil on canvas artwork, measuring an impressive 42”x47”, captures the essence of the natural world with exquisite detail. The box turtle, a symbol of resilience and grounding, becomes a focal point in this captivating artwork. The hues and textures bring the earthy energy to life, creating a mesmerizing dance of color and form.

Lauren’s commitment to environmental causes goes hand in hand with her artistic endeavors. Her plein air paintings, often created in the midst of nature, reflect a dedication to preserving the beauty that inspires her. Through her art, she advocates for the protection of our planet, urging viewers to connect with nature on a profound level.

Living and painting in both Rockville, Maryland, and Trout Run, Pennsylvania, Lauren Litwa has found a balance between urban vibrancy and the serene mountainside. Her artistic dual existence is a testament to the diverse influences that shape her creations, blending the metropolitan energy of Rockville with the tranquil inspiration drawn from the mountains of Pennsylvania.

In addition to her existing portfolio, Lauren welcomes private commissions, inviting patrons to become part of the artistic process. This personalized touch adds an extra layer of intimacy to her work, making each piece a collaboration between the artist and the patron’s vision.

Lauren Litwa’s art is more than a visual experience; it’s a journey into the heart of nature, a celebration of life, and a call to action for environmental stewardship. Her work not only graces the walls of galleries and private collections but serves as a powerful reminder of the interconnectedness between art and the world around us.
